  11. I find this program a vast improvement on the various versions of MORE that
  12. I have trdied to use. The only objection I have is to the name. I like a
  13. utility program name to directly mean something to me. As a result I can
  14. more readily remember its name and use it more often. I renamed it 'READ'
  15. and placed it in my C (dir). When I want to view a text file (or series of
  16. files on the CRT, I only need to type:

  18.                            READ FN1 FN2 FNn
  19.  
  20. where FNn is the file name and may include the path such as:
  21.  
  22.       READ DF0:Letters/Business/FN1 DH0:FN2 DF2:Junk/FNn
  23.  
  24. and so forth.

  26. If the text is longer than 80 columns, the program does not run past the
  27. view page. Across the top bar is the name of the program and the three key
  28. commands, press (SPACE) to contunue, H for HELP or Q to QUIT.

  30. When you press H there are two pages of further instructions that appear:

  43.           R       Repaint Screen (disregard buffered input)
  44.           g     * Goto line N (defoult 1)
  45.           G     * Goto line N (default last line in file)
  46.           =       Display current file name
  47.       /pattern  * Search forward to Nth occurance of pattern
  48.       ?pattern  * Search backward to Nth occurance of pattern
  49.           n     * Repeat previous search (for Nth occurance)
  50.          q,Q      Exit back to CLI
  51.          p,%    * Position to Nth percent into the file
  52.       m(letter)   Mark the curent position with a (letter)
  53.       i(letter)   Return to previous marked (letter) position
  54.          -x       Toggles a flag (may be one of "bcdehpxstwmMqQuU")
  55.         E(file)   Examine a new file
  56.           N       Examine next file (from the command line)
  57.           V       Display version number
  58.           v       Edit current file with $Editor (default ED)

  62. If you like the program as much as I do, I heartly recommend $$$ to the
  63. developer. (Maybe he can then afford to produce more and better utilities)
